Alliance Productions, the largest group of mobile production companies in North America, continues to expand it’s High Definition capabilities by adding two new HD mobile units already in 2011, with a third new truck scheduled to roll in August. This will bring the Alliance Productions overall inventory of HD Mobile Units to 30.
Mira Mobile introduced M-11 HD on Saturday, February 12 as they provided facilities for CBC coverage of Hockey Night in Canada from Vancouver. The maiden voyage was very successful and CBC complimented the truck’s overall performance. The M-11 layout mirrors the client-friendly design of Mira’s other 53-foot expando units, M-7 and M-9. M-11 features a Kalypso switcher, a Calrec Sigma Bluefin audio console, 24 Channels of EVS and capability for 16 cameras. Mira currently services clients in the NBA, NHL & MLB among many others.
CSP debuted HD-1 on Tuesday, February 22 with ESPN College basketball. This 53-foot expando unit comes fully loaded with a Kayenne switcher, a Calrec Omega Bluefin, 8 Ikegami HDK cameras, 3 EVS and a Chyron Hyper-X. The truck is also wired for Viz-RT graphics. CSP has HD-1 ready for an active schedule, with ESPN’s MAAC Conference Tournament in Bridgeport, Connecticut, and the U.S. Open Snowboarding Championships from Stratton, Vermont, among some of their upcoming events.
Looking ahead to August, Corplex will proudly introduce its third HD unit, Chromium, which will join the Corplex HD fleet of Platinum and Iridium. Chromium will travel with a “B” unit, Nickel.
With NAB right around the corner, Alliance Productions would like to remind industry stalwarts of our Annual “Party at Piero’s” scheduled for Monday, April 11th from 4-8pm at Piero’s Restaurant across from the Convention Center. This lively party is always a good opportunity to discuss the latest in mobile television advances with the Alliance Productions staff and general membership and all convention attendees are invited.
