From Sub-zero in Alaska to balmy temps in Puerto Rico, this Alliance Productions Partner has had a unique run of shows. The past success of Jones Mobile Television, based in North Little Rock, AR, was primarily tied to regional college sports and major corporate events. In the past few months, JMTV has expanded their scope and range as they traveled first to Anchorage, Alaska, and then to San Juan, Puerto Rico, for two very different broadcasting opportunities.
In November, JMTV headed to Anchorage for the 2014 GCI Great Alaska Shootout College Basketball Tournament. Eight games were televised from the Alaska Airlines Center, with CBS Sports Net as the broadcast outlet. JMTV owner, Bob Derryberry, along with JMTV engineer, Walter Ratliff, traveled north thru British Columbia, then west across the Yukon Territory, and finally south before arriving in Anchorage. The scenery and terrain were spectacular, turning a 5,000 mile week-long journey, into a once-in-a-lifetime adventure.
Only two months later, JMTV prepped its HD mobile unit for its next challenge, the 2015 Caribbean Series International Baseball Competition. A modest drive to Jacksonville, FL, was followed by a 1,300 mile ocean cruise across the Atlantic Ocean to San Juan, Puerto Rico. The games were played at the Hiram Bithorn Stadium and featured Cuba, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Venezuela and Puerto Rico. John Matthews and Walter Ratliff handled engineering for the broadcasts carried by ESPN Deportes.
JMTV is a proud partner in Alliance Productions.
